Firewood Alert!
In order to protect our campground trees and those in our area, do not bring any wood harvested outside Delaware County, New York. Thank You. New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has issued new alerts regarding firewood and open burning. Untreated firewood may not be transported further than 50 miles from its source. No untreated firewood may come from out of state. Firewood brought into the campground should have a certificate of origin. Further information is available at www.dec.ny.gov or www.nysparks.state.ny.us.
Traveler Tip!
We recommend that our guests not use Exit 18 off I-88. Unfortunately Maps and GPS systems don’t show that it is a steep, narrow, mountain road no good for hauling or towing! We recommend taking Exit 16 off Interstate 88, then follow County Roads 47 and 11 to Route 23 East.
Traveler Tip!
We recommend avoiding the Hunter Mountain Pass (Route 23) and Platte Clove Road (Route 16). It is steep, narrow, mountain road and no good for hauling or towing!
